August Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop: Put Me in the Movies

It’s the last Wednesday of the month (I wanna know who stole my Summer!), so that means it’s time for Bombshell Stamps’ Hump Day Hop! We have 13 fabulous ladies joining in this month. I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone has created. Here’s the theme I came up with for this month. "Put Me in the Movies." Take a movie, and/or movie poster, and use it to inspire your Bombshell Stamps project! Any of your stamp sets will work. And, you can make anything you want. One of my latest Bombshell sets is Retro Cowgirl . And I haven’t gotten to use it nearly as much as I’d have like to yet, so I knew I wanted to go with a Western flick. Now, I don’t watch Westerns, but of course I know some of the titles. And while looking at the Retro Cowgirls, I thought of “Annie Get Your Gun.” Purrrfect! So I searched for the right movie poster, hoping I could find something I could work with.   This poster was exactly what I wanted! Here’s what I came up with. How great

Back 2 Skool Release!

I have 2 more cards to share with you today featuring some more of Simply Betty Stamps’ newest release… Back 2 Skool. All of the images (there are 6!) are available for purchase starting today! Of course, you can get all of the details on the SBS Blog . First up, is School Girl Betty. She’s a sweetie! Once again, my kidlings needed to put in their creative 2 cents, and they chose the colors I would use for Betty. I was all for the purple school girl outfit (which Phoenix chose)…but the bag…I was going to use just green. But Rhiannon insisted I use yellow too. Who am I to argue with a 2 year old??? I dulled the color down with one of the 4 (yes 4!) Copics that I own..E40. It’s called Brick White. And it is a wonderful color that I am so pleased that I purchased. I’m thinking Copics may just be on my Holiday List this year! Any Copic Fairies out there? Feel free to send me some! ;) Her skin was also done with Copics. The rest of Betty was colored using my watercolor markers.

Back to Skool with Simply Betty Stamps!

It’s not quite back to school time her in New York, but I have some awesome new school images from Simply Betty Stamps to share with you today! I am previewing 2 of the 3 images we SBS gals are sharing (you’ll see the 3rd one from me on Friday!)…Lola and London. Let’s start with Sporty Lola! How cool is she? Love her hair, her outfit, and her b-ball skills! She has been colored with my markers, and I am lovin’ how much fun she was to work with! By the way…I will have a tutorial on coloring this week here and at the Simply Betty Stamps blog. Please be sure to visit on Thursday. Actually, this will be a pretty busy week for me here, so please check back every day! My little skull stamp is from Bombshell Stamps , by the way. This card is way girly-er than I usually do, but I like it. Now on to Artist London! This is one of the coolest images from Simply Betty ever! Why? Because her canvas is BLANK! Yup! YOU get to decide what London is painting!!! How exciting is tha

Bombshell Stamps’ Pinup Challenge: Shabby Chic

Hello! It’s time for me to share my latest Bombshell Stamps project with you. This month’s Pinup is the amazingly talented Milo . I highly recommend you visit her blog. She and her wife she (shares the blog with Milo) are such incredible artists. This month, she challenged us to make Shabby Chic cards. Using mostly white, pearls and lace. This was a bit of a challenge for me, as you all probably know how much I enjoy using color. But I broke out my Retro Cowgirl stamp set and went to town. Here’s what I came up with. It’s much simpler than what Milo would make…but as I said, using all white is a bit of a struggle for me. And, I don’t really have a lot of white “stuff.” Though I did enjoy the challenge! I may need to try my hand at this one again! :) I used a little light blue and 2 shades of grey to add some dimension to my Bombshell’s white ensemble. I also used the “sight” image from Smeared Ink’s Chick Dig Guns set. I added some sparkle to it with a glitter pen from Sak

Teen Scene Halloween Release Day! Plus a New Burtonesque Dolls Challenge

I am SOOOOO excited about this release! You have NEVER seen images like these before, and I know you are going to want them for yourself! We Simply Betty gals have been waiting for weeks to show them to you! Plus, there’s a new Burtonesque Dolls Challenge too! But I can’t wait any longer for you to see the new images…so let’s start there! I have always loved the Addams family. My Mom got me started on them when I was really young. I was Morticia for Halloween when I was in 8th grade (that was the first time I wore black lipstick!). My Mom has always quoted them. And now, she has my kidlings call her “Grandmama!” So where am I going with this? I give you Simply Betty Stamps’ Addams Family!!! Let’s start with Lola as Wednesday… I love Wednesday. Always have. When Rhiannon gets a little older, I want her to be Wednesday for Halloween…because she will be purrfect as her!!! And how amazing is this image??? I colored her using my watercolor markers, and I love how she turne

Teen Scene Halloween Preview!

Greetings! I took a few days off from bloggy land because my family and I went on a wonderful vacation to Pennsylvania. We did not want to come home. But, life was calling…and so was this fabulous new release from Simply Betty Stamps ! You are going to LOVE this collection. Today we are previewing 3 images, and on Tuesday, we will be showing the rest and they will be available for sale starting then as well! First, I bring you Mummy London. She’s awesome. From her beautiful hair, to her sneaky little kitty… Isn’t she great? Don’t you just wish your hair was that fabulous? I used a new punch I just scored from EK Success on the top and bottom of the yellow cardstock. And I used some twill ribbon that I painted some Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist on. I colored London’s Skin with Copics, her hair and accessories with watercolor markers, and everything else is done with Distress Inks. I used Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Pumice Stone (for her cat). I am very happy with how it all

DICC #14 Plus, a Card for Ryan

It’s time for another installment of the Desert Islands Crafters Challenge ! This time around, our Itinerary was created by Suzie McFloozy. If you haven’t played along before, all you need to do is make a project using at least 3 things from the given itinerary. You then have the chance at winning an opportunity to create your own itinerary for us! In addition to DICC, I wanted to make mention of a very special request, given by my friend Meredith. A dear friend (named Ryan)of her brother was involved in a serious accident, and she is asking we card makers to send Ryan cards to brighten his day. I had intentions of sending the card I am sharing with you today…but I think it may be a bit too girly. So instead, I will be sending a different Bombshell Stamps card…the one I made for the August Sketch. You can see it HERE . Please read all of the details about Ryan and Meredith’s very thoughtful request HERE . Back to the itinerary! Here it is… Suzie McFloozy's Itinerary 1 - Dry

Macabre Monday 101: Kreepy Kids

There was no way I wasn’t going to play along with this week’s challenge over at Haunted Design House ! It’s all about Kreepy Kids! And I’ve always said that Rhiannon is a demon. But…in this case, she’s more of a zombie. You may remember back in October THIS POST . Oh. That was a great one! And I am so obsessed with the photo I used in it, that I just needed to use it again. And I am quite sure you will see it pop up for more! Here’s the original picture. Just on it’s own…it’s creepy…don’tcha think? Well…I took it to the next level via Picnik . Here’s what I did. Yeah…I did it! Me! All by myself! The photoshop-phobe did this! ;) Creep-tastic! If I do say so myself. There are a lot of folks that are totally creeped out by this picture. I happen to love it. The original and this zombie version. I even have the original sitting on my craft room desk. Now obviously, since I already used this photo, I needed to make a new project for the HDH challenge. So I decided to put my l

StampInsanity Blog Hop!

Hello! Who’s in the mood for a blog hop? The Groovy Gurlz sure are! We decided to get together and have a blog hop, just for you! And guess what? There are free digis to be had! Be sure to visit StampInsanity for all of the details. We decided to make this a sketch challenge with a twist…using flowers. Here’s the sketch: Ok, ok…I changed it up a bit. I’m sorry. I had to! But it’s still purdy! See? I told you! I used one of the many Maddies you can find over at SI. I love her. She’s super sweet looking, but you know she’s gotta be a little devious with those clothes that she’s rockin’! I colored her with my markers. Don’tcha want her hair? Ok…most of you probably don’t. But I do! Love that bright pink against the shiny black! I used some Prima flowers, and drew in some swirls with Platinum Liquid Pearls. Then I dusted them with pink glitter. It’s pretty cool, because I didn’t go heavy on the glitter, so you still get the luster from the Liquid Pearls. Be sure t
