November Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop

Hello! Welcome to the latest Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! I kept it pretty simple this month with the theme, and issued a Color Challenge. I love doing these. Here’s the beautiful palette I chose from Design Seeds. I asked for everyone to use at least 3 of the colors shown above, trying to keep it as close to the original palette as possible.  Here’s what I created. My blue is a bit off, but the rest of the colors are pretty close. I used the new Peek-A-Boo Geisha with the koi umbrella.  This is such a sexy image. Here’s a close up of my coloring. I used my watercolor markers on everything but her skin. For that I used Copics. You'll note that I also broke out the Crafter’s Workshop stencil again, to add some oomph to my background. Are ya sick of seeing it yet? ;) It’s really hard to see, but my sentiment (pre-printed) says “head over heels” which I thought was pretty darn perfect for this image. I’d like to give an shout out to Sparkly Mary …it’s her B

Spaghetti Christian and the Rocky Horror Picture Show

Well that’s a weird combo in my title, huh? Today I have 2 projects. One is from the new Teen Scene Kitchen Fun line from Simply Betty Stamps , and the other is for the latest Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge. Let’s start with Christian. I just loved coloring him in. I think it was so cool to use such a small amount of color. Especially when you compare yesterday’s project to today’s. What a huge difference! Doesn’t that plate of spaghetti look delish? Once again, I colored this image with my watercolor markers. The sentiment is also from Simply Betty. I got the layout for my card from this month’s Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge. I unearthed that cool gingham paper that I thought was just perfect for this card, and then I kept the embellies simple…a couple of gold paper clips. They reminded me of a waitress’ order book. Now for Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls . The challenge for the next 2 weeks is Repo the Genetic Opera vs. The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Cupcake Lola: Teen Scene Kitchen Fun Preview Day 2

Hello! Welcome to Preview Day 2 for the Simply Betty Stamps new collection; Teen Scene Kitchen Fun. What did you think of Baking Betty Yesterday? Today I am sharing Cupcake Lola with you. Wait ‘till you see the huge cupcake she’s holding! Make sure to click on my pics for a close up…you’ll see some very interesting decorations on it! Another cutie, right? She’s one of my faves for this release. Once again, I used my watercolor markers for the image. See the teeny bats on the cupcake? I think that may be why she looks so surprised! My sentiment is from Bam Pop!. I used a wee bit of glitter on this card…see the pink strip? It’s pretty damn sparkly in real life. I also broke out the Crafter’s Workshop stencil that I recently purchased. That’s how I made the stars in the background. You’ll be seeing more of that stencil being used this week. So that’s Day 2! Are you totally loving this set? I hope you are looking forward to seeing the rest of the week. Now you can head on

SBS Teen Scene Kitchen Fun! Preview Day 1

Hello and welcome back to my little spot in Bloggyland. I was on a bit of a hiatus for the last week, trying to catch up on some projects, and enjoying lots of precious family time. But, this week will make up for my last one for sure! I have things to share with you each day this week, and I think you are going to seriously need want these images I’m working with! Today is the 1st Preview Day for the last new Simply Betty Stamps release for 2011. Don’t let that scare you though…there are SO many new lines that will be coming out in 2012 starting in January. This release is called Teen Scene Kitchen Fun. Let it be known that I am not a fan of cooking. It’s really a chore for me. Though I do enjoy baking. But these images make me want to be in my kitchen, trying new recipes, so I can make a recipe book! Or scrapbook pages! So without any further delay, here is Baking Betty. She’s so cheery! I used super bold colors for Betty, and I think she looks pretty rad. My husband said s

Zombie Boys…Dressed as Rudolph?

I never thought I would make a card with 2 zombie boys…dressed as Rudolph! But, I’ve done it! Today is release day for the new Simply Betty Stamps collection, Zombie Teen Christmas. For this card, I took separate images of Caleb and Levi and put them on to one card. On the SBS Blog , you will see that you can purchase a merged image of the two boys, as opposed to using them separately. Here’s my card. I have to say, I had such fun coloring these two boys! Especially Caleb. He looks so miffed about wearing his costume. I used colored pencils for both boys, with Distress Inks around the edges. Here’s a close up of Caleb. I really enjoyed shading this image. I took a lot of time, so that I could get it just right. Here’s Levi, who looks quite surprised to find that fluffy tail on his bottom. Even his worm is looking at the costume in wonder! The sentiment is also from Simply Betty Stamps, from a different zombie collection. My dew drops are colored with alcohol inks

StampInsanity Challenge #80: The CASE of the CASEing Crafter

Greetings! Today I have two posts to share with you. If you are looking for the Pixie Dust Twilight: Breaking Dawn Blog Hop, please click HERE (after you’ve checked out this post, of course!). This post is for the newest StampInsanity challenge. We Groovy Gurlz challenge you to “find a project you love, and CASE the crap out of it!” Ooh, that’s a fun one, right? For my project, I took a peek at my Pintrest (if you’d like to Follow me, click the red button on my sidebar). On my Inspiration Board, I had this beautiful card. This beauty originated HERE . I am in love with everything about this card. The layout, the colors, everything. Here’s my version. My colors are actually a little closer to the original card than it looks here. My card photographed a bit too blue. One of the things I love most about StampInsanity, are Beth’s amazing sentiments and quotes. They are so unusual, beautiful, and thought provoking. They all give you some sort of feeling… giddy, happy, romantic, e

Pixie Dust Studio Twilight Inspired Hop!

Today is The Day!!!!!!!!!!!! Today is the day I get to see Edward marry Bella! Well, technically it’s tomorrow, because I will be seeing the movie at 12:15AM Friday morning (the midnight showing was sold out), but whatever! It’s here! I am SOOO excited! I can’t wait to dress up in my typical pre-mommy goth clothes and scare all of the screaming teeny boppers out of their Wolf Pack faux tattoos. If you are looking for the latest StampInsanity Challenge, please click HERE . :) I am so excited and honored to be a part of the Pixie Dust Twilight Inspired Blog Hop. You should be coming here from Cat’s blog . If not, hop on over to the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog to start from the beginning. For those of you that have been with me from the inception of my little bloggy, you will know that my friend Margie not only encouraged me to start up a blog, but to become a part of the now defunct (sniff!) Twilight Tuesday family. So I was beyond thrilled when Margie emailed me, asking if I

Bombshell Stamps Ms. November Challenge: “Waste Not!”

Hello! I have a new Bombshell Stamps card to share with you today. I was inspired (and excited!) by Ms. November’s ( Celina )challenge, called “Waste Not!” Meaning, take your scraps and make a funky Bombshell project. Easy for me, as I usually only use scraps. I decided to work with the Homeward Bound set. I am SO happy I finally got it. I was so nervous about it at first. Didn’t think I could make anything half as cool as Kathi , Cheryl , and the other Bombshells…but I think I am doing of with it! There’s another card I did with this set  HERE . This is what I made for today. Honestly, I’m surprised at how few scraps I needed for this card! I usually use at least 4…but here, only 2! I colored the ship with my watercolor markers, except for the sails. For them I used my E40 (Brick White) Copic. I think it’s the perfect color for shading. And toning things down. Totally my favorite color of the 4 Copics I own! ;) My sentiment is of course, from this set. I had this ri

Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls: Challenge #5 - Dystopian Films!! Plus DICC #20

I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first is for the new Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge, and the second is for the new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . Let’s get down to it! Dysto..what? A dystopia (from the Greek δυσ- and τόπος, alternatively, cacotopia , [1] kakotopia , cackotopia , or anti-utopia ) is the vision of a society that is the opposite of utopia . A dystopian society is often a planned structured society in which the conditions of life are deliberately made miserable, characterized by poverty, oppression, violence, disease, scarcity, and/or pollution for the benefit of a select minority or some unnatural societal goal.  Sounds simple when it's put like that lol! There are loads of Dystopian Films for you to choose from, so many in fact you'll be spoilt for choice. You've got two weeks to play along with our challenge. I do hope you’ll join us! I was inspired by The Matrix. Haven’t seen the movie in years, but I do really enjoy

Brains, Brains, Candy Canes!

Hello, hello! I have a new Teen Christmas Zombie to share with you from Simply Betty Stamps . Say hello to Peppermint Brooke! I colored her with my watercolor markers...a lot of them! I layered the heck out of her. Plus I used 2 of my 4 Copics. ;) Her skin took me a while, becuase I was trying to get her decaying flesh just right. I used E40, plus a muted mossy green, and a tan. I used some Distress Inks around the edge of the image. I sponged on Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs and Peeled Paint. Nice and icky looking! I used a couple of random scraps a button, some fibers and a ticket to finish off the card. Plus my sentiment, which I made using a Just Rite alphabet stamp. Tomorrow I will have another Christmas Teen Zombie to share with you, as well as a new Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge. Be sure to hop over to the Simply Betty Stamps Blog to see what the rest of the DT has made. By the way, thank you so much for all of the kind words you left for Rhiannon the other day.

We Wish You a Zombie Christmas…

Falalalalala! It’s not just Christmastime in the Simply Betty Stamps world, it’s Zombie Christmas time! All this week the DT gals will be sharing the new Zombie Teen Christmas collection. To kick things off, today we have Falala Lexi. But I didn’t make this card… Phoenix has been making a bunch of things for my blog lately, and Rhiannon wanted a turn…so here you have my little girl, and her version of Falala Lexi. She’s so proud! She worked so hard on coloring this image up for all of you to see. When I asked her if she wanted to make a card for my blog she got so excited! And Lexi was who she chose to work with. Here’s a close up of the card. I think she did a great job coloring! She’s only 2 and a half.  She addressed it to my mom (with my help) on the inside. Isn’t she adorable?!? And yup, there’s Phoenix in the background busy coloring as well. Here’s the back of Rhiannon’s card. I don’t know why, but I am totally in love with this picture. Maybe it’s her little

Batty Betty Birthday Hop

Happy Birthday Betty Boo! Hope we surprised you! Many current and former Simply Betty Stamps DT gals got together to have a fun blog hop in honor of one of our favorite ladies. I used one of my fave SBS images, Pipper, to create my card for our fearless leader. I used my watercolor markers for Pipper. I made her uber bright and bold, just like Betty! I also used the new stencil I got from Crafter’s Workshop that I had used on my Bombshell Stamps card from yesterday. Looking at Pipper’s hair is reminding me that I am in serious need of a dye job! Look at her little cupcake clip! So cute! So Betty, I hope you have a fang-tastic Birthday. Put all of your stresses out of your mind (ok, try to!) for at least today. Put on your party hat and celebrate! We love you Betty Boo!!! For your hoping pleasure, here is the entire hop list: Suzi Jenn Cyndi Rio Jess Aeryn Lelia Alison (me!) November Bombshell Sketch

Hello out there in Bloggyland! I have the latest Bombshell Sketch Challenge to share with you today. Here’s what Kathi created for us this month. I turned my sketch 90 degrees, because I really wanted to work with one of the motorcycles from the Harley Bikes collection again. I used the same coloring technique for the bike as I did last month, but the rest of the card is done totally differently. Think… Nicole Maki . :) I got these crazy awesome stencils by the Crafter’s Workshop at a stamp show the other day, and I am already head over heels for them. I have several from this company already, but this new one is called Mini Punchinella. That totally screamed to me! I stamped the motorcycle on Kraft cardstock, and painted highlights with acrylic. The stenciled parts were all colored with Distress Inks. This was a lot of fun to make. I loved having the bike without color, but putting almost an explosion of color all around it. There is a lot more inspiration for
