Heavenly Peace: Day 3 of the 12 Days of Christmas

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas. Today I have a card that uses an absolutely beautiful stamp. One that may be unexpected from me. Or…perhaps not.

My husband was totally surprised when he saw this completed card. Thinking it was so overtly “Catholic” and just not me at all. Please don’t take this the wrong way. It’s just not my tendency to create things with this type of undertone. I begged to differ. I told him that the Madonna is a representation of The Goddess to me. Then, he understood. He liked the card very much, but he didn’t understand why I would have used a stamp such as this one. I think she’s beautiful.

This image is from Inkadinkado. I inked her in Black Lightening, from the Brilliance collection by Tsukineko. She how glimmery she is?

I then colored her using Distress Inks only. It’s been a while since I’ve done that…and it felt wonderful!

I used an edge distresser by Heidi Swapp, and then once again pulled out that fabulous mini punchinella stencil from Crafter’s Workshop. I thought it would give a pretty cool effect with this image. I inked that up with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. A single red rhinestone completed this card for me. I hope you like it!

I have a quick announcement. Bombshell Stamps is getting into the holiday spirit and wants to something to our loyal fans!
This challenge is a one-time only contest. Use any stamp to create a holiday card and share it us with in this thread in the Gamblers Anonymous section of The Casino in Bombshell's forum!
Each entry will earn one chance to win a $5.00 gift certificate to the Bombshell Store, which will be selected via a random draw.
Use a Bombshell Stamp and you'll win two chances!
If you win using a Bombshell stamp (rubber or digital), you can win a $20.00 gift certificate!
The deadline for this challenge is December 31st. The winner will be chosen by January 5th!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
