Zombabes Release Day

Hello, my bloggy friends! Today I am, along with the rest of the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls , sharing the last 3 images from the new Simply B Stamps Zombabes collection. Also, this will be the last post for the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls. I am sad to see that it is coming to a close, but I look to the future for some exciting new adventures. I have really enjoyed my time as a Doll. Here is the first card I made for today. This is Vacationing Veronica. I think she's awesome. She looks so chill, and I really like how she was drawn. I colored her with ONLY Copics! I hardly ever do that! Here's a close up. I added some Antique Linen Distress Ink on top of the whole image, to age it a bit. The skull and crossbones that you see in the background are from Bombshell Stamps' Speed Shop set. The sentiment, also from Bombshell is from the Mermaid Treasure set. My next card features two of the Zombabes. one is Haute Hazel, and the other is Beach Blast Alison. Named f

Zombabes Preview Day 1

Hello out there! The Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls and I have a new release from Simply B Stamps to share with you today. If you are here for the fabulous Bombshell Hump Day Hop, please click HERE . Today, we are previewing the brand new Zombabe collection. Zombie hotties in bikinis! I have a card that I made with Snappy Ginger to share with you. How sassy is she? She's even sporting Ga-Ga like shades! Zombabe, for sure! I colored her with primarily Copics, though I used a couple of my watercolor markers on her hair. I like making my zombies this bright green, as you'll see with my projects for tomorrow. These summery gals need to be bright. I'll save the muted greens for the "not so cute" zombies. Hahaha! Tomorrow, the Dolls and I will be sharing 3 more images from this collection of 6 Zombabes. You can check out the rest from today's preview over at the Dolls' Blog. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creep-tatsic day!

May Bombshell Hump Day Hop: Celebrations of May!

Hello! It's the last Wednesday of the month, so that means it's time for the latest Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, the theme I gave was "Celebrations of May." There are a lot of fun, interesting, and sometimes bizarre holidays in the month of May, so we had to pick one, and create a project based on it. So what did I do? It was May 22nd, and I had yet to pick a holiday. I just didn't have one that jumped out at me. Turns out, that May 222nd is World Goth Day. How did I not know about this holiday?!?!?!? I am ashamed to admit it, actually. But anyway, their catch phrase is "Get your goth on." So, of course I took it and ran. I used Pirate's Life and Sugar Skulls for this card. Both sets are perfect for a goth-y type project. I jazzed up the pirate gal with a few armbands, purple hair and red eyeshadow. Which, since I've colored her, I have really been in the mood to wear. I may need to break it out and smear some on. Yes, I real

Squeakin'!

Greetings! I took a bit of a much needed bloggy-break, but now I am back, and I have a few new Simply B Stamps images to share with you! This collection is called Squeakin'! Have you seen The Emperor's New Groove? Gosh, I LOVE that movie! It's hilarious! Anyway, ya know when Cronk is translating for the squirrel? "Squeak sqeakin's squeakity-squeak!" That's what this new Jude and the Rockers collection is named for! This release is not being done through the regular SBS DT, rather the new Challenge DT ! I just got lucky enough to be able to play along. Here's 3 of the new images. This is Which Way Brittany. How cute is that little deer? And how sweet of Brittany to show her which way she needs to go! I colored these cuties with my watercolor markers and my Copics. Phoenix chose her shirt color. :) This is Snap Shot Ariel. And check out her tiny bear friend! Another sweet image, right? Again, with this card, I kept my colors pretty neutr

The Evermore Collection

Greetings and salutations! Today I have a couple of projects featuring the Simply B Stamps' Evermore Collection, which just became available in rubber, as well as in digi form.  These images are from the same artist that created the  Original Steampunks ,  Classic Collection Steampunks ,   Steampunk Halloween , and the  Steampunk Romance Collection . All of these images are so detailed and beautiful, anything that you make with them will look amazing! Speaking of detail....some folks out there may be a bit overwhelmed by how much detail is in these images. Or, perhaps you are short on time, but you need to make something fabulous. Allow me to give you a way to ease your coloring anxiety and/or speed up the process a bit. I give you...The Halloween Queen..... As you can see, this image has a whole lot going on. But I chose to focus on just a small area. I simply took a cup and, in pencil, drew a circle where I wanted to color. Then I went to town. Here's a close up. I

2 More Rios!!!

I have 2 more Rios to share with you today. This is from the newest Simply B Stamps collection, The Rios. I am going to share the more Summery images today. First up is Summer Rio. She's such a cutie! Lover her skully umbrella! I colored this (and my next Rio) with watercolor markers and Copics. You can click on any of my pictures for a bigger view. This is Victorian Swimsuit Rio. I love her swimsuit and parasol! Phoenix chose the colors for her, and he did a great job! He chose my personal favorites! My "Retro" is from Bombshell Stamps. I thought that it was perfect for this image of Rio. So what do you think of this release? Make sure you hurry on over to the SBS Shop to snag them while you can. Also, all of the Limited Edition Digis are available for only $3.50! While Betty's away, the DT will play! But I don't know how long that price will last! Betty may be back any day, so hurry! Before that price is gone, and so are the Ltd. Ed. digis! Tha

The Rio's Have Been Released!

This week, the SImply B Stamps team was to release the newest collection, The Rio's. But, as you may have heard, Betty has been hospitalized, so Miss Rio herself and Suzi have decided to release them early! What's that mean? Not only can you see ALL of the Rios today, but you can also buy them right now! No waiting! I've got a couple of projects to show you with them today, and I'll have some more goodies tomorrow. This is Christmas Princess Rio. Isn't she pretty? O love her Victorian attire. And I kept the colors in line with the style of clothing. The yellow cardstock looks a bit harsh in the photo, but in real life, in matches much better. I love her wrapping paper! It has little bats on it!And her hat with it's skull! This is Ice Skating Rio. Again, I love her outfit. What's with me and the super soft colors??? Good thing my next Rio has bolder tones...but you'll have to visit her on the SBS Blog or wait until my next post. ;) I
Greetings! I have a new Bombshell Stamps card to share with you today. I went a little over the top with this one, as I combined 3 different Bombshell challenges into one! First, I used this month's Sketch Challenge. Then, I went for this month's Pin-Up Challenge. Last, we Bombshell gals have a DT only contest every 2 months, so I wanted to participate in that as well. It was tough to do all 3, but I did it! Here's what I made...then I'll give you the break down for each challenge. Here is the sketch that Kathi created for us. Yeah, I changed it up a bit. But that's part of the fun of doing a sketch challenge. Making it your own. The second challenge was the Pin-Up challenge, as I mentioned before. Jennie , AKA Ms. May, gave us a really cool Tic Tac Toe challenge. You know the drill...ya gotta do 3 in a row. So I went with Pearls, Something New, and Red. I used 2 little black pearls, my something new was my brand-spankin' Cherry Bomb and Festi

DICC #31

Hello! It's time for a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge ! In addition, it is also time for a new Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge, but I'll be posting my project for it later in the week. In the meantime, you can visit the rest of the Dolls on the main Blog. But lets get back to the new DICC challenge. This itinerary was chosen by our DT Member Angela. It's a good one! Remember, you need to use at least 3 of the items off of the itinerary in order to play along. Here's the list. 1. For a boy 2. Personalized (add a name or two) 3. What's your number? 4. Doodles (draw on it) 5. Seam Binding 6. 2+ images 7. Something old 8. Something New 9. Something Free 10. Something blue  I decided to make a book mark for my son. He very often has a book in his hands, and more likely then not, it is his huge volume of Thomas the Train stories. I used numbers 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, and 10. 1 and 2 are obvious. My 7, 9, and 10 is the paint chip

Skull Castle Jude!

It's time for a blog hop!!! The last image from the new Simply B Stamps collection is what we are showcasing today, and I know you are all going to love him! I am happy to introduce you to Skull Castle Jude! How cute is he?!? I just love what he is building! I need to try to construct this myself...with a little help from my kids, of course! I used the same dotty technique (yes, I made that name up) for the sand, as I did with Miller. I like how it turned out. I used mostly Copics for this image, with a few watercolor markers. I used some twine on the side of the card (which I inked), as I thought it gave the card some nice texture. Playing in the sand is definitely something I could go for right now. It's so relaxing. I hope you have enjoyed this release! I know that I did! Please be sure to visit everyone in the hop. You don't want to miss a thing! Here is the full hop list.   SBS Blog   Alison  (me!) Chris Munster Hits the Beach!

Hello! It's time for the next preview in the new Simply B Stamps Teen Scene Summer Fun collection. This next image is for sure one of my favorites of this collection. It's Chris Munster...getting pestered by a seagull! If I were that seagull, I would be pestering him too! It looks delicious!!! I had such a fun time with this image...and my husband really wants Chris' shirt! Yes, my husband does love his Hawaiian shirts! And this one, with it's skulls, seriously rocks! This outfit (minus the sandals) is totally what you could find my husband in when the weather is above 50 degrees! And he would totally be defending his ice cream in the same way!!! No one touches his ice cream! I also loved coloring his shades, and his shorts. I am not into kahkis, but I had fun experimenting with colors for those shorts. I even added a bit of a shadow below Chris and his feathered "friend." Only two more images left for this collection, and they both rock! Please

Beach Fun Lola Addams

It's time for another preview of the new Teen Scene Summer Fun collection from Simply B Stamps . This time, it's Lola Addams. She is always one of my favorite characters in the Teen Scene lineup to work with. She doesn't look real happy to be out in the sun. In fact, check out what she said..." See you at dusk." Guess she's going into hiding so that her lovely ghost-like complexion doesn't get a bit of color from the sun! That little sentiment is from Smeared Ink and their Creepy lil Grumpies set. I will be entering this card in their Smudgy Antics "Anything Goes" challenge. I colored Lola with my watercolor markers and my Copics. I really like the look of annoyance on her face! I make that face all the time. Hahaha! I broke out my ole spiderweb punch from Martha Stewart, because Lola was practically begging for some webs. And I found a skully button in my stash that I also thought worked rather well here. Now it's time for you t

Baby Dolls!

Greetings! I have a special Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls post for you today. We don't normally post on the second Tuesday of the month, but this month is different. With the release of the Simply B Stamps collection, the Toxic Teens , I thought it would be fun to have our children (hence, "Baby Dolls") do a post featuring their artwork. This came about since 2 of the Toxic Teens were named after my kids, who of course immediately wanted to start coloring their namesakes. Here's what my Baby Dolls created. As I have mentioned many times before, Phoenix is always creating something. He's always got his markers out, his glue stick, and a pair of scissors. Well, all the cutting he's been doing (and I know it's a lot due to all the confetti on my living room rug) has certainly paid off. This kid can wield those crummy kiddie scissors like no one's business. And honestly, I have a hard time using them! Check this out. Do you so how closely he ha
