Dilly Beans Challenge: Fall

Greetings! Fall is officially here, and that is the theme of the challenge this week at Dilly Beans . You may be saying, "But that was what you said last week!" Yeah, it was. There was a teeny mix up in what the challenge was last week, so this week, we are just going with Fall again. Which is good for me, because I love the Fall. I used Anna framed for this card. I did her hair a little different from how other folks have colored her...I added a bit more hair to her, by coloring in some of the negative space. I also gave her a bit of an ombre look to her hair color...which is so popular with people right now. I'm please with it. Here's a closer look. Isn't Anna so pretty? I used watercolor markers and Copics to color her in. This is another one of Dilly Beans' "Big Eye Girls" that I love so much. I took 3 clear rhinestones and hand colored them with an orange Copic. My "Fall" stamp is from Hero Arts, and I inked it up

September Bombshell Hump Day Hop: Let's Hear it for the Girls!

It's the last Wednesday of the month, so you know what that means. It's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! Last month, it was all about the boys... well this month, in anticipation of October, the theme is "Let's Hear it for the Girls!" This theme is a little more specific than last month's though. I wanted the participants to create a project which could be sent to someone in October which is (here in the States) Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So let's Think Pink!  I recently acquired the All My Heart set from Bombshell and this is the first opportunity I have had to use it. I thought that it would be perfect for the message we were trying to convey this month. I colored this heart with watercolor markers and Copics. The color is a bit off from what it looks like in real life....but you get the idea. The die cut ribbon is from Sizzix, and the corrugated cardboard was a great find that my mom gave me. I punched the stars out

Thank You Card Featuring Dilly Beans

Happy Monday! I wanted to share a new Dilly Beans project with you today. I totally love the image I used...and I think you will like it too! I used #453 Daisy Girl Framed. Seriously, isn't she beautiful? I love her big eyes....and actually, Dilly Beans has a ton of wonderful images featuring the "Big Eye Girls." Just do a search for them HERE . I totally loved coloring her. And I can assure you, you will see her again soon, colored up differently. I used watercolor markers and Copics. The "thank you" is also from Dilly Beans. I don't know what it is about this card...but I am so happy with it. I guess it's just a combination of everything. But yeah, to toot my own horn for once, I think it rocks. And it's not even scary! Hahahaha! So have you checked out the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog? Click HERE to stop by and say hello! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Dilly Beans Challenge: Fall

My favorite season is certainly Fall. The colors, the smells, the anticipation of the upcoming holidays. Spring is beautiful, and I love the heat of summer (not really a fan of winter)...but the fall is full of magic. So I was very happy when I found out the the new Dilly Beans challenge for this week was simply "Fall." What a wonderful challenge, right? Here's what I made, using "Emily Framed." I am so in love with Megan's framed images. This is one of many that are in one. And I find that taking these images and making a card with them is such a simple and quick process, because of that frame. Isn't Emily pretty? I loved coloring her eye, and her beautiful hair, of course! She was colored with watercolor markers and Copics. Incidentally, my deep orange watercolor marker is rather juicy...and I cut the image out before it dried. Well, some orange got on my finger and I touched some of my tri-colored background! There was no way to hide/fi

September Pin-Up Challenge: Paint Splatter

Hello! It is time to share the September Pin-Up Challenge from Bombshell Stamps . This month, Lizzie , our Pin-Up of the month, challenged us to use paint splatter on our projects. This was SO up my alley!!! I love to splatter paint! I decided to work with one f my newer (for me) sets, Girl's Ruin . This was so much fun for me. I started off by stamping the focal image from Girl's Ruin twice. The first version, I colored only the Bombshell's skin and tights. The second (which I had separated from everything else so that I wouldn't ruin any other images with paint), I went to town with. I chose three colors (very 80's combo, don'tcha think?), and splattered the whole thing with a fan brush. I had so much fun flicking and spattering paint everywhere! When I was happy with my splatter, and it was totally dry, I cut out the large shoe, her bikini top, and her teeny shoe. I kept them attached to each other. This was actually a pretty easy cutting job c

DICC #38 with Delicious Doodles

Hello! It''s the 15th of the month! So it's time for another challenge with the Desert Islands Crafters Challenge ! This itinerary has been sponsored by  Delicious Doodles . Here is the Itinerary for today's challenge: Black Red Roses Creepy Crawlers Skulls Vampires Monsters Texture Webs Die Cuts I had the privilege of using Black Widow from Delicious Doodles . I am not a fan of spiders, so this immage totally creeped me out! But, I love Teri's images, so how could I not be excited to use her? I used numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and 9 from the itinerary. I colored her (with advise from Phoenix) with my watercolor markers and my Copics. It's tough to see the shading I did on her pale skin, but it's there! And once again, my purples look terrible on camera. I used one of my favorite texture plates from Fiskars...the web. Yeah, I hate spiders, but their webs are beautiful. And I rubbed some metallic purple on the web to show off

Dilly Beans Challenge: Robots

Greetings! It is my first official challenge as a Design Team member of Dilly Beans ! I am so excited! And I LOVE this challenge! Robots! Have you seen the wonderful robot images that the super talented Megan has created? They rock! I chose to work with Sprocket's Heart Framed. Seriously. How fab is this robot? Robots are great for boy's cards....and it is often pretty tough to find a cool image for boys. Well, any of the robots from Dilly Beans will certainly be perfect! I colored this guy in with watercolor markers and Copics. It's tough to see, but the background fades from a cool, pale pink to a soft blue-green. I loved coloring this image, and Phoenix has asked me to print one out for him too. I can't wait to see what he does with it. The "smooches" is from one of the Lil' Grumpies sets from Smeared Ink . I hope you will play along with this fun challenge. You have until Thursday to do so. Full details are on the Dilly Beans Chall

September 2012 Bombshell Sketch Challenge

Hello! It's time for a new Sketch Challenge from Bombshell Stamps. I really liked this one. It had a lot of layers. I could see using many, many sets for this sketch, but I chose to work with 2. I simplified it a bit, but I do like the original a lot. Here's the sketch. I flipped the sketch on it's side, and changed the positioning of the sentiment. I like having these hot rods together. It reminds me of the car shows I frequent. I colored them up with my usual mix of watercolor markers and Copics. I was a little worried about picking our coordinating papers, but I think I found some rally good ones! And as per usual, my purples didn't photograph properly. Man, that makes me crazy! They look so blue in the pictures. Now I am in the mood to go to a car show! So what do you think of the latest sketch? Why not play along? If you do, you have the chance at winning a set of Bombshells for yourself! Head on over to the Bombshell Blog for all th

I'm on the Dilly Beans DT!

I am SO excited! I have been asked to join the Dilly Beans Design Team ! I can't tell you how excited and honored I am to be on such a rad team. In my little world, things have been a little off-kilter lately, and this was just the boost I needed. To all of my new pals over on the Dilly Beans DT, especially Megan , the owner, thank you for having me! So for my first project since joining the team, I used Big Eye Girl #181. She is in one of Megan's fabulous frames that Dilly Beans is so known for. Isn't she great? I love the creepy-cool-cute look so many of the the Dilly Beans images have. And I am so loving the frame. It helped my card come together so fast. I colored her with watercolor markers and Copics. And the fabulous little sentiment is also from Dilly Beans. I got to break out my beloved Drippy Goo punch from Martha Stewart. I think I will be using it quite a bit with these images. And lots of Halloweenie schtuff! I'll be participating in

DICC #37: Sponsored by Doodle Garden

I cannot believe it. It is officially September 1st. Summer is over, my kids ( plural! ) are going to be going to school soon. And I will be at home crying. Literally. Thank goodness my daughter only goes in two times a week! Yeah, the quiet time will be nice for me, but man ! I am going to miss my babies so much! So since it is the first of the month, I have a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge to share with you. This itinerary was created by Suzi. We have been sponsored by Doodle Garden this time around. Plaid/Tartan Books Pens & Pencils - as embellishments or to colour with!! Alphabet Numbers Apple for the Teacher Something New  Let's Play Anything but a Card Bright Colours  I used numbers 3, 4, 6, 7, and 10. I made this for my Girl. I know she will love it. And, as is often the case, Phoenix helped me choose the colors for her outfit. Which is totally something Rhiannon would wear. He knows his sister's taste so well!   I colored this c
