Flora and Fauna: Final Week

Hello! We have a 5th Thursday this month, so the entire Dreamweaver Stencils team is posting today! Our challenge all month long has been "Flora and Fauna." I have particularly enjoyed this challenge, as I love plants and animals. You may link up your own project at the end of my post. I used a new (for me) stencil... Mushrooms . I have so many ideas for this stencil...so you will definitely see me use it again soon. But for now, here's today's project. I taped my stencil on to white cardstock and used a small stencil brush from Dreamweaver to apply several colors of Versafine Inks from Imagine Crafts . I used my Picasso tool to block out areas I didn't want to color as I went through each color. This is a wonderful tool, and if you stencil at all, you must add it to your collection. Once I was happy with the colors and shading, I embossed the image with clear embossing powder. Then I watercolored my background. This was super simple, because the now-emb

Fairy Wonderland with Wicked Wednesday

Hey Everyone! This is my second post for today. So if you are looking the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop, please visit HERE ...after you've checked out this post, of course! ;) This post is for the newest Wicked Wednesday challenge, which is Fairy Wonderland. We are sponsored by The Greeting Farm . Here's my ATC. This is Cheeky Fairy , and I think she's adorable. I colored her with watercolor markers and alcohol markers. I used some Stickles on her wings and some fabulous chunky glitter my friend Aeryn gave me. You're going to see some other great ATC's from the rest of the Wicked Wednesday gals, so please visit the Challenge Blog to see them. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

May 2014 Hump Day Hop: A Cut Above!

Greetings! It's time for the May 2014 Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, the theme I chose was "A Cut Above." I wanted everyone to use lots of die cuts. To use the Sizzix, Silhouette, or any other type of die cutting tools you may have. So here's the card that I made. The Bombshell Stamps that I used for my card was Vintage Raceway (you can get it in digi and rubber form!) and King of the Road (for my sentiment).  I colored the car with alcohol markers, in colors reminiscent of Plum Crazy, one of my favorite colors that hot rods like these sometimes came in.  My fabulous dies is a complete set from Dreamweaver Stencils . They are called Nesting Frames . Now, go get hopping! Below is the full hop list. Thanks for stopping by Have an inspiring day! Bombshell Blog Alison Suzi Kim Angie Marnie Valerie Kelli Kathi

Based on a Song with Dilly Beans

Hello out there! It's time for a new Dilly Beans challenge. This 2 week challenge is "Based on a Song." I decided to go with 311's Daisy Cutter. You can check out the lyrics HERE . Here's the card I created using Poppy Set. I colored this cutie with my Spectrum Noir markers. So why 311? My kids, especially my daughter, really love 311. I know. Probably not a group you'd think a 5 and 7 year old would love...but they do. And I'm cool with that! Please be sure to visit the Dilly Beans challenge blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Flora and Fauna with Dreamweaver Stencils Week 3

The  Dream Team  is ready to inspire you with some extra fun this week! Not only are we posting with the  Flora and Fauna challenge , we are introducing you to our  THREE NEWLY RELEASED DESIGNS ...our  Owl Buddy , the  Open Sheep , and the art nouveau-inspired  Heron , which you had a sneak peek at two weeks ago on the  Dream It Up! blog . Three lucky commenters on the Dream Team's posts will receive one of these designs to be announced on the Dream It Up! blog  next week. Tell us in your comment which technique YOU would use with your favorite of these new designs. Here are the 2 projects I created this week. I made this ATC using the brand new Owl Buddy. I traced all of his shapes on to assorted pieces of patterned paper (on the back so that you don't see pencil marks), and cut them out. This cute stencil has pretty simple to cut shapes, but it can be a little time consuming. But I have great news! We will have Owl Buddy available as a die! So you will easily be ale

Triple Threat!

Hello out there! Today, I have 3 projects to share with you! That's right...3! It's a crafting trifecta! The 2nd Step in the Dark Challenge , new Wicked Wednesday , and a new Color Challenge with Bombshell Stamps . The Step in the Dark challenge is to "Use Purple" or Anything Goes. Here's my piece. This is an ATC using Lilli Faye from Make it Crafty. Lotsa purple here! The swirls on my background paper is pearly. And I used lots of Ice Stickles to give this faye some much needed sparkle. The new Wicked Wednesday Challenge is "Foxy", and we are sponsored by Sami Stamps. I LOVE the image I was given to work with! Coloring this image was a lot of fun. I used alcohol markers, as I did on Lilli above. Aren't those foxes adorable? More with the glitter...this time, super chunky and green. I'm entering this Foxy ATC in the Sami Stamps "Anything Goes" challenge. I love color challenges. That's why I was so excited to

Bombshell Sketch & Red, White and Blue with WW

Happy Wednesday! Today, I have 2 projects for you. The Bombshell Stamps May Sketch challenge as well as the latest Wicked Wednesday challenge, which is "Red, White, and Blue." First, here's the Bombshell project. I used Hawiian Girl and Madonna Woodcut for my piece. It's a 6x6 mini page. I started off with my Bombshelland palm tree, but after they were colored and I cut the circle, I had a big empty space....so I broke out my Sun from Dreamweaver Stencils.   I used Distress Inks and a stencil brush and it filled the void perfectly.  My stamped images were colored with Specrtum Noir and Prismacolor markers. I would like to bbe on that beach right now.  And now...for Wicked Wednesday. This week, we are sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps, and I used an image that my fellow DT'ers think resembled me. I had to agree with them. This is Oleander by Rebecca Sinz. Again, our challenge this week is Red White and Blue...but I look forward to coloring thi

Flora and Fauna with Dreamweaver Stencils

Greetings! It's my first official blog post for the Dreamweaver Stencils DT!  The  Dream Team  are challenging you this month to a  "Flora and Fauna"  theme! Considering most of the Dreamweaver designs  incorporate both of these in the huge variety of stencils, you should have no problem playing along with our challenge this month! As usual, link your creations at the end of the  Dream It Up!  blog post, or at the end of our posts where it says,  "Add Your Link" . As the challenge gets underway, you'll see thumbnails of others who are playing along as inspirations for your own creations! Here is my creation for this week: I took this pretty picture of my little girl over the weekend, and i knew I wanted to use the beautiful Corner Flowers stencil. I used Pearlescent Embossing Paste to get the image on to my cardstock. Once it dried, I applied several colors of Metallic FX powders with a Q-Tip.  I love how the Metallic FX stuck to the backgrou

A Step in the Dark's 1st Challenge and Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's a big day for me today! I get to share the first challenge with the brand new A Step in the Dark blog. It's where creative meets creepy. I also have a new Wicked Wednesday challenge. Let's start with the A Step in the Dark, shall we? We are sponsored by Delicious Doodles, and the challenge is "Skulls." I decided to work with Deadly Nightshade . I colored this stunner of an image with Spectrum Noir markers. Here's a closer look. I went with colors I don't often use together. I don't typically do citrus tones...so this was a challenge for me. Did you notice the leaves in my background? Those were made using a new die from Dreamweaver Stencils. I am entering this card into the following challenge- Left of Center's "Spring Fling."   http://leftofcenterchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/challenge-30-spring-fling-with.html?m=1 Now...on to Wicked Wednesday. The theme this week is "Tropical Colors," and we a

May Muse Monday: Girl's Ruin

Hello out there! It's the first Monday of the month, so that means I get to share with you the first installment of this month's Bombshell Stamps Muse Monday. I decided to go with Girl's Ruin this time. This is a fun and flirty set, and is perfect for any gal that loves shoes! I love coloring that shoe in many different ways. Here's what I came up with this time. I went for my 2 favorite colors...teal and purple. I often glitter up the shoe, at least a little...so it was tough for me to do something different. Isn't it just screaming for glitter??? I may have to play along with Muse Monday again this month just to use some glitter! I'd like to point out that I colored her legs with the same skin tones I used on the rest of her rockin' bod. Then I colored her stockings. I wanted it to look like they were semi-sheer, and that's the best way to do it in my opinion. The image was colored with Spectrum Noirs. Please go and check out some oth
