Day 31 of 31: Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it's already here? It's Day 31 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! Today I have one last card to share with you. I used the fantastical Raven Background stamp for this card. First, I took my Mixed Media Paper and smudged 3 colors of VersaFine ink from Imagine Crafts on it. Then I stamped the Raven Background using Black Versafine. I shredded the edges and used some liquid adhesive on the hat. Then I psrikled some black micro glitter from the Fall Glitter Mix kit on to it. For my card base, I used black cardstock, and sprinkled Spoonful of Midnight on the corners and 2 sides. I also added a bit of Black Detail Embossing Powder just for a little more liquid-looking black. That's it for me! I hope you have enjoyed my projects for the month. I wish there was more time! I have so many other things that I wanted to make. Thank you so much for all of your kind words. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of yo

Day 30 of 31: 3x3 with A Day for Daisies

It's almost over! I can't believe we will be done with the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween tomorrow. It's been a ton of fun, and I hope you have enjoyed it too. Today, the A Day for Daisies team decided to all make teeny 3x3 cards with the adorable little Green Eyed Monsters. Here's mine. I used Monster Joe for my little card. I colored him with my Tombow markers using the Indirect Blending Technique. You've seen me use this technique quite a lot this month, and it is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. If you click  HERE , you can see a PDF about different techniques on using the Tombow markers, including the Indirect Blending technique. I added some googly eyes for dimension and added silliness. My sentient is from Tiddly Inks , and was heat embossed. I added a silver spiderweb in the corner, and a small patterned scrap. I have to say, it's hard for me to make such a small card. This was definitely a challenge for me. But a fun one! Pleas

Day 29 of 31: I'm Bewitched!

Greetings Bloggy Friends! It's Day 29 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. It's also my 11 Year Anniversary! So I love this day. I also have one of my favorite projects that I've made all month to share with you. A few weeks ago I won Zombie and Her Kitty from Saturated Canary , and I was so excited to color her up. She was a blast! I colored her using the Indirect Coloring technique with my Tombow markers. I know I have been yapping about this technique a whole lot this month, but the effect is just great, and it's fun to do! I colored her to look as though she was morphing. After I colored her, I used a Spellbinders die to cut her out, and then I heat embossed the edges with Aged Copper Embossing Powder (from the Bronze Encrusted Jewels Kit ), and I added some sparkle with  Mahogany and Burgundy glitter  right on top of the embossing powder before I heated it.. These 3 things are of course from Stampendous . My background was done with th

Day 28 of 31: Happy Halloween with WW

Greetings! It's Day 28 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. It's also Wednesday, so I have a new Wicked Wednesday challenge for you. This week, we are sponsored by Oddball Art , and the theme is really simple....it's "Happy Halloween!" I used Tiffany the Terrible Img 79 . I cropped her quite a bit. I used the Indirect Coloring technique from Tombow to color her up. Around her, I sprinkled some beautiful, metallic, Rose Gold embossing powder from Stampendous , along with some Lilac Glass Glitter from the Purple Encrusted Jewel Kit . For my background, I cut a piece of eggplant colored cardstock, Then I used the Spider Web stencil with Copper Embossing Paste . After it dried, I stapled the image to the background. And that's it! Please visit the Wicked Wednesday Blog to see what everyone else created today. And of course, the Wicked Bloggers hat are all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by, Have a boo-tiful day!

Day 27 of 31: Owl be Watching

Hello! It's Day 27 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. I have another Stampendous card to share with you today that is going along with the theme for this week, "All About the Dead." I used the Tombstone Owl for this card. I colored this fabulous image with my Tombow watercolor markers. The card itself is Kraft cardstock, and I embossed NK Studio's Wired image with    embossing powder. I love the mix of colors in this powder. It looks complicated, but it's only only one bottle of powder that has been used. I stapled the image to the card for a little more metallic and texture. I kept it simple because the background is sort of busy, and because the image itself is so striking. Be sure to visit the rest of my Stampendous teamies that are featuring projects today. And don't forget about the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day! Stampendous Stamps Blog Janelle Stollfus Laura D

Day 26 of 31: It's All About the Dead

Greetings! It's Day 26 of the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween. Along with that, this week, the Stampendous team is featuring projects that are All About the Dead. I made a card featuring the Skull Roses stamp, and the Spider Web stencil from Dreamweaver. I colored the stamped image with my Tombow watercolor markers. Then I fussy cut it out. I embossed the Spider Web with glossy black embossing paste on to teal cardstock. After it dried, I started adding my torn paper and punched border. I used some wonderful Mini Glue Dots to adhere my black cabochons to the top of the card. The mini Glue Dots are usually my go-to dot size of choice. They are the perfect size and really bond so everything so well. That's it for me today. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Blogers, all listed in my side bar, as well as the Stampendous gals that are listed below. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day! Day 25 of 31: Bat Sign

Welcome to Day 25 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! I have a bat sign today...take a look! I started off with a piece of pre-cut wood and I used Andy Skinner's Rust Technique on it. Then, I used my Dreamweaver Bats stencil with Copper Embossing Paste . Next, I sprinkled some Aged Copper Embossing Powder (from the Bronze Encrusted Jewels Kit ) into the wet paste, and I heated it with my heat gun. It bubbled and melted and I got wonderful coloration and texture. If you click on my photos, you can see them bigger. I also drilled a few holes in the wood so that I could add my copper wire hanger, as well as some fun charms and beads to the bottom. This is another piece that I will keep up all year long in my craft room. It fits right in perfectly. Steampunk, distressed, and bats! I love all three of those things very much. That's it for me today. We are in the home stretch! Don't forget to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my sid

Day 24 of 31: Amplified Crow

Good day to you! It's Day 24 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! Today, I am officially posting on Stampendous ' behalf, and I think (hope!) that you will like my project. It uses a couple of wonderful Dreamweaver stencils and some fun products from Imagine Crafts . I started off with the Mosaic Swirls stencil, taped to watercolor paper. I took 3 colors of Amplify from Imagine Crafts; Electric Yellow, Electric Orange and Black, and I swirled them around on top of the stencil. I followed the pattern of the stencil a bit, but I wasn't too careful about it. When I felt like I had enough coverage, I used my Paste Spreader  to push the color through the stencil and on to the paper, just like you would with embossing paste. I had to go over a couple of areas 2 or 3 times, and I did that with my Palette Knife . When I was satisfied with the coverage, I lifted the stencil off and heated my paper. And that's when it got really fun! I love to watch the Amplify

Day 23 of 31: Another Two-fer!

Greetings! Today is another day that I will have 2 projects to share with you. But this time, they are both Halloween. It is the 23rd of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. I have a project for A Day for Daises and one for Left of Center . This week for A Day for Daises, we are challenging you to "Make a Treat Item." I decorated a simple brown paper bag for my project. I colored the Pumpkin Head Friends  using my Tombow watercolor markers, and the Indirect Coloring technique. Then I used a couple of fun embossing folders for my background paper, and I inked them up. The candy corn has a chalk ink from Color Box, and the argyle has Gold Delicata ink from Imagine Crafts. For Left of Center this week, we are sponsored by Limited Runs, and the theme is, "Use Your Skull." I made an ATC using the Deadly Cupcake digi. I colored it with my recycled pencils from Tombow. I also sprayed my orange cardstock with some purple Dylusions spray. Then, I

Day 22 of 31: Technicolor Halloween

Hello! It's day 22 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Today, my project aligns with the Stampendous theme of the week. We are sharing various awesome projects using Nathalie Kalbach's fun and funky stamps. I decided to combine her stamps, with some Dreamweaver stencils, and Amplify from Imagine Crafts . This was all really about playing for me. Playing with the stamps, the neon colors, the paint itself, and of course, my stencils. I started off with one spritzing my watercolor paper background, and then using one of the stamps from Nathalie's Wired set. Then I really started to play. I used a couple of the images from Nathailie's Grunge set. I took out my Creative Palette  and squirted some Radiant Purple and Radiant Green Amplify on to it. Then, I swirled the 2 together with my palette knife. Dipping the stamp in, I placed it in a few spots around my base. Then, I used my embossing gun to heat it up in order to create that fantastic puffed

Day 21 of 31 Days: Silent Night and WW

Hello! It's Day 21 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Only 10 days left! I've got 2 projects to share today, but one isn't Halloween. I know, I know...crazy! The non-Halloween is for Wicked Wednesday . Let's start with the Halloween project though, huh? I have been wanting to make this project for a while, and I am really happy with how it turned out. I used the fantastic Silent Night stamp from Stampendous . I stamped it on to watercolor paper and then used Detail Black embossing powder and heat set it. Then I played with some watercolor paint. Then I stamped out my tombstones on to gray cardstock, and watercolored them a bit as well. I also used foam strips to pop it up off of the card's bottom. Ahhh, it's nice to stretch my creepy-styled legs. Now on to...well....a not creepy at all project. ;) The theme for Wicked Wednesday this week is Funky Colored Hair and we are sponsored by Lacy Sunshine . I used Sweetest Day Love Not F

Day 20 of 31: Buggaboo Goth Girl

Greetings! It's Day 20 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Today, I have a card that features Goth Girl from Buggaboo . I colored her with my Tombow watercolor makers, direct to paper. My sentiment is from Tiddly Inks . My background has the Spider Web stencil from Dreamweaver on the lavender side, and just some excess spray from the negative of a different stencil I was using for a different project. Never waste any of your spray! Always rub or press it on to some scrap paper. You will totally be able to use it later. I added a little washi tape for an additional pattern. There you have it! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fang-tastic day!

Day 19 of 31: Tic Tac Toe

Hey Bloggy Friends! It's Day 19 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Today I have a fun project. I made a Tic Tac Toe Board using Stampendous ' Create Fall and Create Winter stamp and die sets . I used some cardboard to make the base of the game. I inked the edges of it. Then, I stamped the brooms from the Create Winter set and colored them in with my Tombow markers. For the vertical pieces, I just stamped part of the broomstick, and drew in a half oval to close it off. For the game pieces, I stamped the images on colored cardstock. Gray for the hats, orange for the pumpkins. I colored them all in, and then used my dies to cut them out. For the bottom of my game board, I used Dreamweaver's Dual Alphabet Dies . That's it for me today. Don't forget to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day!

Day 18 of 31: Trick or Treators

Hellooooo! Welcome to Day 18 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! Today I have a card using a fantastic image from Aurora Wings . One that I started last year... I used Trick or Treat Boys for this card. Some time ago, I believe on the Kit and Clowder FB Page , there was a contest to color any image with crayons. I made it to the party kind of late, and I never got a chance to finish what I had started. I liked where it was going though, so I wanted to use it now. I got my sentiment from the Spooky House set from Stampendous . I had printed the image pretty big, since I knew I wasn't going to be able to get great detail with the crayons. So I decided to keep the rest of the card pretty simple. I did get to use my favorite punch of all time though, the Drippy Goo from Martha Stewart. I inked it a bit and heat embossed clear powder all over it for some texture and shine. It's not too easy to color with crayons the way I like to color, but it sure was

Day 17 of 31: My Heart, Your Brain

Hello out there in Bloggy-Land! It's Day 17 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Today I have the companion ATC for that sweetie of a mummy that I posted the other day . This image is from Vera Lane , as was the mummy. She is in fact, part of the same Quirky Zombie and Cat collection. And, most importantly, she's the mummy's girlfriend. See? He was only sad the other day because I hadn't posted his gal yet. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers. My background was done on watercolor paper with a few sprays of color. Then, I stamped Andy Skinner's (for Stampendous) Scratch stamp from the Industrial Cling set. It "junked up" the background perfectly, I think. The fab sentiment is from the Vera Lane collection as well. I think my little couple will be quite happy together, side by side....don't you think? Be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic

Day 16 of 31: Dancing Pumpkinhead with ADfD

Hello again! For today's Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween post today, I have a new card featuring an A Day for Daisies. For the next 2 Fridays, we will be featuring the Pumpkinhead images. Take a look. I used Dancing Pumpkinhead 2 for today's card. I used the Indirect Blending technique for coloring my image. You can check out instructions on how to do this technique HERE . I also inked my paper with Antique Linen Distress Ink. She is a happy little pumpkin, huh? I used some fun DCWV paper , a button from Buttons Galore, and a wee bit of ribbon from May Arts. I mounted everything on to a kraft colored card base, and I inked the edges in black. Please be sure to visit the A Day for Daisies Blog to see what the rest of my teammates created this week. And don't forget about all of the wonderful Wicked Bloggers, listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fangtastic day!

Day 15 of 31: Buttons Galore and a Portrait

Mwahahahahaaaaaa!!!! Welcome to Day 15 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. It's also Dreamweaver Thursday, plus the Stampendous team is doing a fun collaboration with Buttons Galore and More . They were so generous in sending us some incredible buttons in an awesome variety of colors. Don't be fooled by this Christmas banner...I am still sharing a Halloween project today. Now, how about some additional prizes beyond what S&S is offering today? Please get all of the details for this hop on the Stampendous Blog . Don't miss out on these prizes and awesome projects from my teamies! Now, on to my button-filled project..... I used the lovely Cameo stencil as my focal piece, but I tried to creep it up a wee bit with my backgrounds. I was going for a wall in an old abandoned house. With the buttons as sort of medallions that frame out this once-important portrait. I applied the Cameo with Black Embossing Paste. while it was still wet, I sprinkle
