Let's Party!

Greetings! Today I am sharing the card I made for my son's 11th birthday. He loves Lawn Fawn critters just like I do, and I recently purchased a couple of sets that I knew I had to use for him. Needless to say, he loved the card. I am playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which has the theme of  Party . I am also entering this card into the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge which is Use Your Favorite Lawn Fawn Set. Seriously, is this a party or what? I used stamps from Party Animal  and  Forest Feast . Forest Feast is my current favorite set. But that keeps changing, because I love them all so much! I knew that the tree stump stamp would be the perfect table for a grand party. The hardest part was figuring out who the Guest of Honor was going to be, and I think this little chick stepped up to the plate nicely (pun intended). I stamped all of the images with VersaFine ink in Onyx Black on Canson Mixed Media Paper, with the exception of the stump, which was

Let it Snow

Hello! This month, the Imagine Artists in residence are creating projects with the theme, "Let it Snow." When I sat down to think about this project, I immediately knew I wanted to use Amplify in White. Amplify is a semi thick liquid color that when heated, puffs up with fantastic dimension and texture. It comes in a range of colors, and the white is just perfect or snow. I started off by coloring my polar bear family with Memento markers, and I cut them out with the coordinating dies. Next, I created snow banks by cutting out two pieces of watercolor paper (I used watercolor paper because of it's thickness). I applied the Amplify to one snow bank, heat set it, and then repeated this step with the second snow bank. You can see the fantastic texture the Amplify has in my photos here. To create my sky, I used several colors of Fireworks! Spray. I was going for an aurora borealis in the sky, so I started by spraying New Sprout, Lilac Posies and Rose Bud sideways

Butterfly and Hibsicus Skull

Hello! There's a lot of holiday projects everywhere right now, since it's December. But I really needed to step away from that for a moment and work with the gorgeous Butterfly and Hibiscus Skull digi from GothArte Tenebris . I loved coloring this image. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush. I really didn't want to put this on a card, but instead make it a 6" x 6" Mini Page. Here's a close up of the coloring. For my background, I used the coolest spiderweb stamp ever, which is from Stampendous, and stamped it repeatedly with a couple of spiders. I thought it needed some foliage, so I used a fern stencil, also from Stampendous. I feel better now that I took a step back from all the holiday stuff. As much as I love it, I really needed a rad skull to work on. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Die Cut Wreath with Delicata

Hello! This month, the Imagine Artists in Residence are featuring the color Evergreen. I decided to create an evergreen wreath with Delicata Inks, and I am going to show you how. I started off with a piece of Mixed Media White Paper and covered it with Emerald Green Delicata ink. You can see the pretty shimmer this ink has. Although this is a pigment ink, it does dry quickly. But if you're a little impatient, you can use a heat tool to speed up the process. Using the Build A Wreath die set from Stampendous!, I die cut several evergreen boughs from the inked paper. I also die cut the largest circle from the set with a precolored piece of green cardstock. Using a deep shade of green colored cardstock, I tapped the surface with Golden Glitz Delicata ink to give it some sparkle and depth. I then die cut the evergreen boughs out of this color too. I was satisfied with how these two layers looked, but it definitely needed some embellishing. There is a trio of berri

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #17

Hello! Today, I am sharing a card for the latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge , which happens to be a color challenge. I love color challenges, and it's been a while since I have participated in one. I used the Christmas Dreams set, which I just got through a Black Friday sale. I stamped the images I wanted to use on Canson Mixed Media Paper with VersaFine Ink and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I fussy cut all of the pieces out, and used Nuvo Drops in Sea Breeze on the ornaments (they were colored with the Persian Blue Zig first) for dimension and shine. I used some Doodlebug wood grain paper and a Sizzix die to create my "room" for the elements. The background cardstock is from Bo Bunny. I am really pleased with this card, and I love the versatility of the Christmas Dreams stamp set because of all the different elements. I think I need to make a kitty card next. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Tiny Nativity Tag

Hello! This week, the Stampendous Design Team is focusing on "The Reason for the Season." I wanted to share a tag I with perhaps the sweetest little nativity stamp ever. Soap Bottle

Hello! I love making (and receiving!) hand made gifts, and of course this is the perfect time of year for that. I decided to decorate a plain foaming soap bottle. Truth be told, I didn't make this as a gift. It was for my house, but I may just get a few more of these soap bottles and make them as gifts for people. To take it a step further, you can easily make your own foaming soap and add it to the bottle before giving it as a gift. It's perfect for a housewarming present! I bought this foaming soap bottle for about $6, and I knew right away that I wanted to use StazOn Studio Glaze to decorate it. So I washed the bottle down and chose my colors to go with my bathroom. I turned my bottle upside down and squirted on lines of Claret Studio Glaze, allowing it to have a nice big drip at the bottom. I varied the lengths of the lines, and kept plenty of room in between them to add the other colors. I worked on a scrap piece of cardboard, so that I could easily turn the bo
